HONOLUA BAY, Maui/Hawaii (Sunday, November 23, 2014): A second lay day has been called at the Target Maui Pro presented by Schick Hydro Silk. With no surf on offer at Honolua Bay, event organizers have called the competition off for the day and will reconvene tomorrow morning at 7:30 a.m. (local time) to assess conditions and make the next.

“We’re still looking at really small conditions and, although it’s beautiful right now, there aren’t any waves,” said ASP Women’s Commissioner Jessi Miley-Dyer. “We’ll come back tomorrow and I think we might start to see that pulse coming in.”

The final stop on the 2014 Samsung Galaxy ASP Women’s World Championship Tour will see a conclusion to this season’s thrilling world title race and three surfers remain in contention to take the title in Maui: Australians Stephanie Gilmore, Sally Fitzgibbons and Tyler Wright.

When competition commences up first will be Malia Manuel (HAW), Johanne Defay (FRA) and Pauline Ado (FRA) in Heat 1 of Round 1.

Surfline, official forecaster for the event, are calling for:

Quite slow again through Sunday morning, with a gradual building trend through the afternoon as new, mid period and shadowed NW swell builds. That swell continues Monday, although wind will shift onshore and build. More favorably angled and larger, mid to shorter period NNW swell mix still looks likely Tuesday before fading Wednesday. We’ll monitor for possible favorably angled NNE groundswell to build Thursday before easing Friday.

Heat 1: Malia Manuel (HAW), Johanne Defay (FRA), Pauline Ado (FRA)
