At a recent Surfing New Zealand board meeting, the appointment of a North Island Representative to the Surfing New Zealand Board was discussed. It was determined that under the rules of Surfing New Zealand, the only way to appoint a person to that position, outside voting at the AGM, is via co-option (Rule 8.9.3).
Given the rules, Surfing New Zealand is seeking expressions of interest/nominations for the position of North Island Representative.

Nominations will be open until 5:00pm Friday 16th March. The Surfing New Zealand Board will assess nominations and confirm the North Island Representative by Friday 6th April.
The position of North Island Representative will be up for election at the 2018 Annual General Meeting and will be filled for a period of two years.
