Simon Deken, Paige Hareb, Manu Shafer,
Nz’s most successful female surfer, Paige Hareb started her career at just 6 years old in the Oakura board riders comps.
What is it that brings your club together? The love for the ocean and the community that we live in.
The club prides itself in? Giving back to the community. Work with Halberg Trust to give disabled kids and their families a day at the beach and teach them how to surf. Supports all surfing levels by providing coaching to beginners right through to high performance. Provides a place for the community to gather. Created an area for all families to gather with a skate bowl/park, basketball court and picnic area for the community to enjoy.
What is one thing you would change about the club if you could?
Nothing…OBC is the place to be.
What is a club hack that you would like to share with others clubs around the country?
Think BIG and back it up with the support. – Communication is KEY.
