Surfing Since: I was 3 years old when I caught my first wave

How did I start surfing: I was lucky enough to be brought up in a surfing family with generations loving the sea and sport. Since I was a baby, I have always been drawn to the sea and never complained about going to the beach, actually, I used to nag my Mum and Dad if we didn’t. If the surf was too big my Dad used to drag me around on a bodyboard in the shallows, I would stand on it pretending I was surfing pipe which my dad always watched. Otherwise, on land, I would always jump on a skateboard and be keen to drop into anything. I suppose that was the start of my surfing journey.
Surfing competitively since: 2017 National Primary School Comp in Gisborne at age 7 I came second in year 6 under girls.
Competition strategy: Keeping a positive mindset, being grateful for the opportunity, and having a clear head while being psyched even if the surf is crappy.
New Zealand Teams: None so far but cannot wait to the day I represent the fern with pride.
Career Highlights: Stoked on coming second for under 14 girls at Nationals 2021 in Piha and winning the Primary Schools Comp under year 6 girls twice in a row. But to be honest there have been so many highlights and awesome memories from the Billabong Grom Serie’s, Polar Bear, and the amazing comps down in South Island.
