Surfing New Zealand (SNZ) is the national body for surfing in Aotearoa New Zealand. With a purpose of creating experiences that share the aroha of surfing, we engage over 300,000 surfers and support a network of clubs, schools, and programs that reflect the values of respect, positivity, and progression.

We are seeking an Events and Projects Coordinator to join our small, passionate team for a 6-month contract. You’ll help deliver national surfing events, support key community programmes (like Wave Warriors and Surfers Rescue 24/7), manage media and content, and maintain our member database.

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver event logistics and operations across multiple national events
  • Support and coordinate the delivery of community programs and training
  • Manage digital content and social media communications
  • Maintain and enhance membership data and insights
  • Represent Surfing NZ in the community and work hands-on at events

What You’ll Bring

  • A passion for sport and community engagement
  • Event and logistics experience, preferably in sport or recreation
  • Strong digital skills – social media, Microsoft Office, and basic content tools
  • Excellent time management and the ability to work independently and in teams
  • Full NZ driver’s licence and willingness to travel

The Role

This is a fixed-term, full-time role for 6 months with potential for extension, depending on funding and organisational needs. The start date is immediate following appointment.
